JOB SUMMARY: Under direction of the HFW Supervisor or his or her designee, the Family Support Partner utilizes their experience of raising a child with severe emotional and/or behavioral health challenges to assist parents with similar challenges. This provides an empathetic link to the parent through which the Family Support Partner supports and extends the work of the HFW facilitator to ensure the phases and activities, principles and theory of change are accomplished and provides direct services to the parents to better ensure an individualized approach.
QUALIFICATIONS: The incumbent in this position must have parented or been the caregiver of a child with severe emotional and behavioral challenges. This position requires a person with an outgoing personality who can engage people from different cultures, ages, and backgrounds. The incumbent in this position must have experience with different systems, including schools, mental health agencies, child welfare, juvenile justice, health care and others. S/he must possess extensive knowledge of community resources and the ability to engage with them. This position requires working flexible and on-call hours, and the incumbent must have a valid driver’s license and insurance, excellent driving record, and reliable transportation. S/he must demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural and socio-economic differences present among the Agency’s defined service population.
