JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Clinical Program Manager, the incumbent assists the consulting medical professionals in the management of patient records and services. This employee also completes tasks related to admissions for outpatient services, including intake, processing and follow-up record keeping of all clients in the behavioral health program, including archiving and discharges. In addition, s/he greets visitors, handles incoming telephone calls, and assists with patient flow. S/he facilitates scheduling using the electronic health record and performs selected clerical functions.
QUALIFICATIONS: The incumbent of this position must have a high school diploma (degree or certification preferred) and one to two years of experience with medical records and patient admissions in the human services or medical field. S/he must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills, be computer proficient in standard applications, well-organized and able to multi-task. S/he must have a warm, friendly personality and the ability to handle a busy telephone system as well as the ability to respond professionally to inquiries at the front desk and among the medical community. The incumbent must demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic differences present among the Agency’s defined service population.
