Psychiatrist

JOB SUMMARY: The Agency’s licensed Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric care for clients referred to the Agency’s outpatient clinics and be willing to travel to all locations or via tele-psychiatry as needed.  S/he will complete required documentation for psychiatric care provided in accordance with agency requirements as outlined in the Behavioral Health Policy and Procedure Manual and/or other agency documents, as well as in compliance with state regulations.  The Psychiatrist works collaboratively with the Agency’s Behavioral Health Services administrative team as well as with clerical services.  S/he may supervise other clinical staff such as a physician assistant, certified nurse practitioner and/or registered nurse.

QUALIFICATIONS:  This position requires a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, with a specialty in psychiatry, and at least two years of professional experience assessing and treating the mental health needs of children and adults.  The Physician must be Board-eligible in psychiatry with experience medicating children and adolescents and possess a controlled substance abuse certification.  The incumbent must be willing to work in concert with the Agency’s service philosophy that all clients served have a voice in their recovery and treatment. S/he must demonstrate understanding of managed care and be willing to work within that system of care, and be able to utilize electronic health care record systems. The incumbent must demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic differences present among the Agency’s defined service population.
