Tammy and Ron HansonTammy and Ron Hanson had a dream to be parents, but infertility was an issue. Like many other adoptive parents, their journey to parenthood led them to consider adopting an older child who had been placed in foster care. Their journey crossed paths with that of Rebecca, a beautiful seven-year-old girl who was in need of a forever family. Rebecca had similar physical traits of the Hansons and seemed to be a perfect match in many other ways. She had speech issues and needed assistance learning. Mrs. Hanson had a background in speech, a master’s degree in education and was employed as a teacher. Due to Mrs. Hanson’s education background and the Hanson’s ability to provide much more for Rebecca, they were identified as her adoptive family. After a series of visits, Rebecca was placed with the Hansons and ten months later the adoption was finalized. The Hansons have worked diligently to help Rebecca overcome her speech and learning challenges. With the support and guidance of their Pinebrook adoption worker who has assisted them in finding additional community resources, Rebecca has blossomed with her new family. The Hansons provide Rebecca with the unconditional love that she needs and deserves, while she fills their home with the joy of a child. This truly is a dream come true for all!
